Half time report as West Ham take on Arsenal

Half time: 0-0

This is a London derby that needs a goal!

West Ham, however, have been excellent defensively, limiting Arsenal to half-chances and pot-shots from range.

The Irons look confident going forward, and Samir Nasri is pulling all of the strings in midfield, and getting quite the reception from the visiting fans in the process!

Declan Rice had the best chance of the first-half, sending a free header narrowly wide of the post following a 44th minute corner. The midfielder headed into the interval with a look of frustration on his face, and it’s understandable; he really should have scored.

Arsenal’s best moment came through Alexandre Lacazette in the 13th minute, as he was released into the box but was foiled by Lukasz Fabianski at the last.

Felipe Anderson, too, was unlucky, as he fizzed a shot just wide of the post following an excellent lay-off from Nasri.

As half-time approached, it was the Hammers who were on top, but Rice was unable to take full advantage.
