Half time report: Every Hammer rated (1)

|

Hugh hands out his midway markings

Fabianski: Possibly the purchase of the summer at £7 million and again possibly our best since Ludo. Inspirational saves at time and more than a shot stopper but distribution could be better at times 7

Adrian: Very few chances and likely now to be getting even fewer. Part of our history I’m afraid 5

Zaba: Brilliant first half of the season and seems to have gained a yard or two in pace which is pretty remarkable. Like all there have been dodgy moments but by and large a hero and hands together, eyes closed, he gives us a another  season 8

Fredericks: Hardly fair to rate him on what we saw against Liverpool, Arsenal where he was impressive and Wolves. No rating

Balbuena: Settled in brilliantly, the Paraguayan has made some seriously important interventions and reads the game beautifully. Another great buy. The General’s a star 8

Diop: Ditto above. Brilliant signing identified by the boss apparently and snapped up at speed by the board for £22m . Top work 8

Ogbonna: Given the form of the main pair he’s had little chance to show what he’s got. When he has there have been some worries. 6

Cresswell: Again very little seen of him but I think by general consent certainly not the player he once was 5

Masuaku: Ok, he’s not a defender and hasn’t been at his best going forward through better of late 6

Noble: Really doesn’t get the credit he deserves on account of the various rushes of blood to his head – witness Leicester but he is i midfield organiser and still has that great pass in his locker. 7

Yarmolenko: Quite a while before we saw him and was great when first appeared before fading a bit and getting hit with that awful injury 5

Wilshere: Desperately disappointing start to the season then all the fears we harboured closed in around him. 4

Rice: Amazing all season so for God’s sake get that board sorted like NOW 9

Anderson: It’s getting better all the time but at £35 million there has to be more to come. Could become one of those Irons cult heroes of which we are do fond 7

Snodgrass: The miracle at Christmas. Unbelievable transformation and almost the heartbeat of the team. Absolute quality 9

Obiang: Nothing spectacular, nothing much to moan about. Just a standard 5

Sanchez: No rating

Antonio: Initially disappointing but with his fitness returning Michail starts to look a very useful player again 7

Diangana: Burstb on us out of left field and was an immediate sensation but the boss is handling his progress slowly and the next few months will be very interesting 6

Marko Arnautovic: All the words have been used really. Great half season which went off the boil with the last couple of appearances before injury 8

Carroll: No rating

Chicharito: Much improved over recent matches as the Pellegrini philosophy kicks in 6

Perez: Important couple of goals against Cardiff and a couple of others in League Cup games. Improving 6
