Half time report

Half Time 0-3

No surprises then.

The ultra cynical finishing of the champions was all too much for the Irons with goals from Silva, Steling and Sane leaving us with a seemingly hopeless task yet the Hammers had more than their moments and were often as threatening as City.

For that thank Manuel Pellegrini who put out probably his most offensive line up of the season with Antonio supporting Carroll and Masuaku involved.

Sadly, that turned out to be a mistake because the left back was responsible in the build up to the first and third goals.

Arnie, Antonio and even skipper Zaba had chances and 3-0 down at ht or not it was great to see us pressing high and creating chances. We have to be realistic – City are from a different planet.

A honourable mention for Grady Diangana who showed plenty of pace and determination down the right abd often had Delph at full stretch.

At the back Diop made one extraordinary tackle to halt what looked like a certain fouyrth goal.
