Hammer Aguerd’s errors a cause of concern

|

SO!

We  know where we are with the top two at least after being beaten 3-1 by City at our place and by the same scoreline against Liverpool at theirs.

Today we looked a every decent side for the 45 minutes and average by comparison to the Reds in the second which a different scenario to last year when we were very slow in the first 45 mibns and often the opposite in the second.

It might have been a different result too had we not seen another of the seemingly regular mistakes from Aguerd which led to the easily converted Salah spot kick.

The central defender is either very good indeed or poor and I am sure the manager is looking very carefully at that situation.

The upside was to see the likes of Soucek coming back to his best and Paqueta who really does win his share of the ball besides being a magician creatively on his day.

Among the others I was impressed with Coufal and Emerson, on the other side, is looking better and better.

But we really do need to start seeing games out – today could have been a whole lot different if we had finished as we started,

When Liverpool tired, they could bring on the likes of Gakpo, Jota, and Gravenberch, while we had to make do with Fornals and Ings. I expect Kudus to be a very fine player indeed, but he will need some time to adjust to the PL, especially against a side of the caliber we saw today.
