Hammer Alvarez may be the new Dicksie

|

With any luck the new Terminator has at West Ham arrived because like Julian Dicks before him Edson Alvaraz appears to be a lad who takes no prisoners at all.

In every interview I’ve seen with him and on him by others it’s clear this lad has enormous presence on the pitch where his stats show that nine tackles attempted and nine won on his first start against Luton.

And last night he showed he is not a geezer to be messed with when after being caught by a high boot in the Mexico/Australia game from Mitch Duke the friendly descended into something far less than its billing.

The incident occurred right on half time and reports say that as the sides left the pitch some head butts were exchanged between the pair which whilst in itself isn’t great proves a big point. Edson is not a man to take lightly.

The story puts one in mind of Dicksie – probably the hardest fella to turn out for the Irons so the floor is clear for his successor.

Carry on Mr Alvaraz!
