West Ham Academy striker Paul McCallum currently on loan at Portsmouth has received a seven-game ban. He has been found guilty of improper conduct. The 21-year-old was found to have made contact with the referee following his recent red card against Southend United.
McCallum was given an initial three-game suspension for the dismissal, but that was increased to seven matches due to his reaction to sending off. He is currently on loan at Pompey from West Ham United until the end of the season. His contract with West Ham finishes on the 31st May this year with speculation he will be one of over fifteen Academy players not to be offered a new contract with the Hammers.
We’ve released Kieran Sadler and ben Marlow already. Contracts cancelled.
Blair Turgott and Matthias Fanimo were also released yesterday
Its sad but ita not always the end for these young fellows. They should look to players like asron cresswell for inspiration.
