Hammer becomes the Premier League dribble king

Hammer Vladimir Coufal is the undisputed dribble blocking king of the Premier League according to a new graph published by Five Yards.

Coufal topped the graph of successful dribbles sat 24 as well stopping 60 per cent of those against him placing him fourth in the top-flight league.

The defender, who joined the Hammers from Slavia Prague for £5.5m in October, played a pivotal role in West Ham’s defence since joining.

Unlike many players needing time to adjust the English top-flight, the Czech mate of Tomas Soucek hit the ground running.

He consistently tops the statistics as the West Ham player who covers the most distance during matches along with Tomas Soucek.

Last season the two Czechs both appeared in the top five of players to cover the most distance in Champions League games.

It is a long time since we have such a good right back and the best of the 28-year-old West Ham defender may well still be to come.

  1. Great signing. Reminds me of a certain Thomas Repka!
