Hammer buzzing as big day approaches

Hammers midfielder Josh Cullen has a perfect opportunity to make an impact on Manuel Pellegrini’s thinking when he steps out for Charlton against Sunderland tomorrow (Sun) in the Leaue One play off final.

The 23 year old has enjoyed a fine loan spell at the Addicks this season and wants to round it off in style against Sunderland.

The player has already revealed that he is returning to the Hammers for pre-season and that his perfect scenario would be to stay at the London Stadium and force his way into the first team squad.

In the meantime he is on a mission for Charlton and himself as he bids to avoid the sort of play off disappointment he experienced when part of the Bradford team beaten by Millwall in the same level play off final.

And with Pellegrini likely to be watching he knows this is a superb opportunity to make a big impression ahead of pre-season.

He said: “I’ve been there and done it before and I know it’s a great occasion and a great arena to play in, but I want to make sure we get the win this time.

“Playing in front of a big crowd is obviously different and I should mention our fans have been fantastic and they’ve stuck by us and going to Wembley is for them. I’m sure they’ll pack it out again.

“The lads are buzzing to be playing at one of the best stadiums in the world will be ready. We will all prepare right and be mentally and physically ready to go on Sunday.”

  1. Looking forward to watching the play off finals and will be keeping a keen eye on Cullen. Really hope he plays a blinder and Charlton get promoted. Lee Bowyer has done a fantastic job there. I never would have marked him down as management material.

  2. Cullen has been very good some League 1 pundits say GE is the best Deep lying mid in League 1. Finally scored could add fore goals but he has such an engine on him just didn’t stop whole game till PENs. He is passionate & determined.
Tho I’d prefer Sunderland to come up bc stadium & all there is to do there is football.

But should be a good game Taylor is axoeijt for fun & soon to be free agent Joe Aribo has 4 goals in last 5 games.

Tramere surprised me with win & Derby made first come back after kiaing first leg at home. So League 1 & Championship final will be good.

And know Josh wants to still be West Ham player but he will gie everything he has in the pirfh. Bowyer loves him.
