Hammer called up for Brazil

West Ham midfielder Felipe Anderson has been recalled by Brazil for the friendly matches against Panama and Czech Republic in March. Anderson’s only Brazil cap came in June 2015 when he made his debut as a substitute in a Copa America warm-up match against Mexico.

He was also part of the Brazil U23 squad that won Olympic gold on home soil, coming on as a substitute in the final against Germany.

He returns to the senior Brazil set-up after impressive form for West Ham that has seen him score nine goals and four assists in all competitions.

The news comes after the club’s record signing was criticised by Alan Sherer for his performance on Wednesday night against Manchester City. Speaking about the conceded penalty the match of the day pundit said: “I thought it was soft but I thought he was clumsy,  Felipe Anderson comes in, it’s soft but it’s clumsy.”
