Hammer in talks over exit – report

|

West Ham defender Issa Diop’s agent is in talks over a potential move to Lyon in France, according to a new report.

Trusted French newspaper L’Equipe claims that the centre-back’s agent has been in discussions with Lyon for the last week as they look to secure Diop’s signature.

The 25-year-old’s representative is said to have held talks with Lyon’s sporting director and the club will now progress their talks, potentially towards making a bid.

L’Equipe claims that Diop could be available for under £8.2m in the next transfer window and Lyon aren’t expecting much resistance from the Irons.

Lyon have even drawn up plans to offer Diop a long-term contract with a big salary.

His current deal in east London is set to expire in 2023, so he will either need to leave in the summer, or go on a free transfer at the end of next season.

He has made 12 Premier League appearances this season.

I don’t believe stories like these. He’s got a future in our squad as the youngest of the four centre backs we have

He knows he is only in for Zouma – we can’t realistically stop him from leaving, he can just run down his contract. Are we ‘having talks’ with anyone? We need quite s few.
