Hammer is ready to step up – another fine signing

By Hughie Southon

Nayef Aguerd is likely to find himself coming under more and more pressure when the Premier League kicks off again once yet another international break comes to an end.

Konstantinos Mavropanos has shown outstanding performer on his Hammers appearances so far whilst the Morocco international has the sort of moments which have called his regular starting spot into question.

The Greece international was apparently in terrific form again last night as his nation beat the Republic of Ireland 2-0. It wasn’t as easy as the scoreline may suggest with the defence being under pressure for longish periods.

There were several who weren’t sure about his signing given his past injury track record but he has been in terrific form and with Kurt Zouma often injury prone looks set to get plenty of chances.

So far play to David Moyes and Tim Steidten who have made another fine addition to the squad.
