Hammer joins Colchester on loan

LeeWest Ham have confirmed that striker Elliot Lee has joined League One club Colchester United on loan until the end of the season. The 21-year-old returns to the Essex club for a second spell, having scored his maiden league goal in a 2-2 League One draw with Rotherham United back in November 2013.The forward previously made his first-team debut in a Premier League fixture with Stoke City in August 2013 and has also had loan stints with Southend United, Luton Town and Blackpool. In all, Lee has scored five goals in 25 career appearances.
“I’ve brought Elliot in to strengthen our attacking options,” U’s manager and former Hammer Kevin Keen told Colchester’s official website. “He knows the club from his time here before and he is a hungry young player who has had a good upbringing. He wants to score goals for this club and gives us another option up front.” It is expected that Elliot will be involved in Tuesday night’s squad for the game against Fleetwood.
