Hammer Leaves: Another One Bites The Dust

FC Copenhagen have agreed a £2 million fee with West Ham for goalkeeper Nathan Trott.

It’s a decent return for a player in whom I personally had high hopes. Trott always seemed to be an adept shot-stopper and was comfortable with the ball at his feet, having started his football journey as an outfield player.

The Danish giants have been in talks with West Ham over Trott for several weeks, and now they have agreed on a deal according to reports this morning.

Trott has spent the last two seasons on loan in Denmark at Vejle BK, where he caught the eye of FC Copenhagen during his stint in the Danish Superliga.

West Ham exercised the two-year option in Trott’s contract earlier this summer to extend his stay, but they have now decided to sell the keeper following FC Copenhagen’s interest.

Trott is well down the pecking order at West Ham, with Alphonse Areola and Lukasz Fabianski battling it out for the No.1 spot at the London Stadium.

Trott joined West Ham in January 2016 and progressed through the club’s academy to the fringes of the first team.

Sorry to see another Academy product leave, but wish him all the best of fortune and success.

Great move and hopefully we have a buy-back clause. Bayern have loaned their next in line ‘keeper, Nübel out for several seasons, gaining huge experience – was with Stuttgart last season and will play in the CL.
Won’t be too long before he replaces Neuer.
Better Nathan joining a club and getting games than sitting around doing nothing at our club. Far less likely a ‘keeper get’s a chance when’s there’s 2 in front of you.
