Hammer leaves on loan

Joseph Anang has left West Ham to join Irish club St Pat’s Athletic, the Irish Mirror has confirmed.

The goalkeeper is aiming to play regular first-team football and has struggled to make a breakthrough in east London.

St Pat’s have history of taking players on loan, having signed Vitezslav Jaros from Liverpool in the summer.

He has left the club, though, and they have subsequently swooped to sign Anang.

He signed a four-year contract with the club back in 2020 but the 21-year-old has yet to make his debut for the Irons.

Anang has made a total of 49 appearances for the club’s U23 side and has also played 12 times for the U18s.

An England U20 international, he will be hoping to play regularly in Ireland and further his development away from the Hammers.

St Pat’s won the Irish Cup in November and Anang will hope to enjoy further success with the club, having now sealed his move.
