Reports from Senegal suggest that offers could come in for Hammer Cheikhou Kouyate this summer from Turkey.
Galsenfoot.com suggests that both Galatasaray and Beşiktaş could be interested in the 28 year old midfielder and are monitoring his situation under new manager Manuel Pellegrini.
Kouyate joined West Ham from Anderlecht for £7m in the Summer of 2014 on a four year contract.
In 2016 the West Ham midfielder signed a new long-term contract keeping him contracted until the Summer of 2021.
Signed by Sam Allardyce he has largely kept his first team place under both Slaven Bilic and David Moyes despite a drop in form. Despite being a standout performer for long stints of the 2016/17 campaign, Kouyate’s level of output has dropped significantly over the course of the last season, leaving a number of fans vexed by David Moyes’ persistent use of the midfielder.
Kouyate made 38 appearances in all competitions last season comprising of 34 league and 4 cup games scoring two goals.
I like Cheikh has been a very good player for us and scored many important goals, last season was a bit off the boil for a while and perhaps the tail end of the season before but he is definitely one of my favourites as a personality, if he goes will wish him well in the future COYI !!!
Im not surprised his form dropped off. I wouldn’t be surprised if he was playing while injured at times and the poor bloke never seems to get a rest. When he stops playing for West Ham he flies off somewhere to play for Senegal whether it’s the African nations cup or the World Cup. Years of doing that might have taken its toll on him a bit.
