Hammer makes bright start to Italian Job

West Ham midfielder Edmilson Fernandes – loaned to Fiorentina for the season – has made an exciting start to life in Serie A.

The 22 year old was also involved in the international between England and Switzerland on September 11 as he continues his progress following his break away from the London Stadium .

Having made just 17 appearances in the Premier League since joining the Hammers, he has now appeared in each of Fiorentina’s  opening games this season and helped in their rise to a lofty fifth position behind the likes of Sampdoria, Napoli and Juventus.

However, on-loan Hammers striker Jordan Hugill has not made such a bright start to his loan spell at Championship outfit Middlesbrough where he has made just three appearances in the league from a possible eight as the club has risen to second place.

And he is is still waiting for his first goal at Championship level although he found the net in an EFL Cup game against Rochdale.
