Soucek – our tip for Hammer of the Year

West Ham United’s player of the year and virtual Player Awards, will be brought to fans this evening!

With so many players stepping up to brilliant performance levels the likes of Michail Antonio, Aaron Cresswell and Angelo Ogbonna  Vladimír Coufal, and Tomáš Souček will be bang in the mix..

And to celebrate a fantastic season and the players who made it happen, the club has announced that the awards ceremony can be viewed on the Official YouTube Channel at 7pm on Friday 6 August.

And they add that with the Hammers concentrating on securing European qualification and COVID restrictions in place at the end of last season, and the Club’s UEFA Euro 2020 stars given a well-earned break following their successful summers, it waited until those players returned to Rush Green to mark their outstanding achievements.

Host Chris Scull is joined by West Ham legend Carlton Cole and supporter, rapper, author and broadcaster Guvna B at Rush Green, where they reveal and speak to the various award winners.

ClaretandHugh says: Our forecast is that Tomas Soucek will edge the Hammer of the Year award from Declan tonight. The Czech superstar won the ClaretandHugh award by some distance but in a season when – as the club declares – there were so many outstanding performances who knows? Vladi Coufal was in sensational form throughout the campaign and Mikey looked business when he was fit. It’s been a long wait but tonight we find out who you voted as the star of the Hammers show. Ben Johnson may well pick up Young Player of the Year.
