Hammer set for another chance to avoid exit door

|

Ben Johnson looks set to get another chance avoiding the Hammers exit door on Thursday evening in the Europa League clash in Freiburg.

With Aaron Cresswell still not quite ready following a hamstring injury, Johnson is likely to again feature rather than Emerson given the weekend game against Newcastle.

However, it seems improbable that Conor Coventry will get an opportunity and is rapidly running out of chances to show what he has got.

Word from the insiders at the club earlier this season was that both were likely to be allowed to leave in January but Johnson was given his chance last week and looked in good shape in the Carabao Cup clash.

Cresswell would almost certainly have got the call had he been fit but David Moyes suggested in his pre-match press conference for the Sheffield United game that he doesn’t look quite ready at the moment although he isĀ  coming along well. Thursday, however, is certain to come too soon.
