Mark Noble is set to be offered a new Hammers deal over the next few weeks which will include appearance clauses and a backroom role with the club.
Nobes is determined to carry on playing for as long as his legs will carry him but is no longer anything near an automatic starter.
However, that won’t stop the club offering him a deal which reflects his enormous value to the club as he heads towards his 34th birthday in May.
The captain is almost certainly to be called up for the FA Cup clash match at Edgeley Park on Monday evening but has become very much a squad player this season.
Of the 17 Premier League games this season he has failed to make the squad on three occasions and been on the bench six times.
Nobes would reject any offers to join other clubs on loan – even at this stage of his career – and is of course to be a fantastic dressing room asset.
The club are ready to negotiate with the player on the basis that he will be pulling on the claret and blue and being involved with club’s backroom team into the future.
Should have followed snoddy to West Brom. Says something if bfs didn’t try to sign Noble as well. Bfs kept us up by bringing in experienced captain Nolan from Newcastle but Nolan was a lot younger than Noble is now.
He should be going to manager’s school.
Would like him to be able to play his last match in front of a live crowd at the London Stadium.
Until we have more depth where Rice and Soucek play, expect to see him on the pitch occasionally.
Cannot agree more, done his bit, but that time is over. Time to move to being a Coach or moving to a lower League.
