Hammer ‘Snoddy’ ready for second chance

Robert Snodgrass is tonight reported as being ready to throw everything into a second time around excursion at the London Stadium.

According to the London Evening Standard, the on loan Hammer is set to come back and give it a real go should manager David Moyes want him.

Regular reports have arisen claiming that the midland outfit  are keen to do a deal for the winger  but the Standard claims there is no such ongoing discussion of that nature.

Snodgrass may feel he has a big point to prove at West Ham after being given just 800 minutes under Slaven Bilic before the previous manager agreed to a season long Villa loan.

And despite some ill considered comments from David Sullivan about what his sons feel about the player’s abilities, there now appears to be a possibility that a successful return is on the cards.

ClaretandHugh has been told that Moyes – who could well be installed as manager by the end of the current campaign – would be ready to give Snodgrass a good pre-season before making a decision on his future.

  1. Surely if we flog Snods that’ll give us a few million for the Jioa Mario deal? I know which player I’d rather have here. COYI

  2. Oh please no. He weren’t much good before we bought him. Prime example of Sullivan’s poor transfer policy. Make the loan permanent and get rid now.

  3. He is a decent player but certainly Slav was clueless as to what to do with him, unless Moyes has an alternative, the guy is 30 if we can get £12 – 15m for him sell him to Villa and reinbest the funds into top quality younger players.

    • All well and good for £12-15mil. but maybe the Villans are looking at £2-5mil…. to me that says he’s got every chance of being involved at West Ham next season….
And we have to consider there may be some serious interest in Manu this summer…….

  4. Moyes type player. He’ll do far better this time around imo

  5. I sincerely hope they do not let that oxygen thief back in to the club. Sell now and be rid of another old timer.

  6. Moysie speaks the lingo and is bound to coax more out of him..

  7. Might be difficult to fit him back in at present, but I’d certainly keep him around, as he might well get another opportunity to impress??

  8. To agree with what others on here have said; if the money is good enough then sell him but otherwise he will give us a good squad option during next season. I only say this because I have total confidence that our present coaching team are infinitely better than the last lot. Next time he will perform.

  9. He was a decent player before Bilic got hold of him . He is playing well for Villa . Moyes would do a far better job with him , if he wants him it would be a non brainer imo .

  10. I can’t see him coming back after what Sullivan said about him. No great loss. There’s a big gap between the Championship and the PL.

  11. Honestly don’t know why we sent him out on loan in the first place. He wasn’t great last season but you could say that about 75% of the squad last year. Play him in the correct position and I think he will be like a new signing. Have you seen the way he’s been tearing up the championship for villa.
