Hammer targeting Newcastle for return

|

Hammer Angelo Ogbonna is targeting the Newcastle United away game on 17th April for his return to match fitness.

Ogbonna who suffered a high ankle injury against Manchester United in the FA Cup has been out of action for 56 days since the game in early Feb.

He spent much of February resting up and in a protective medical boot but returned to the gym in March and has been building up his fitness levels.

He is due to resume daily full training with the first team squad later this week but that will come too soon for the Leciester City game so the Newcastle game is more realistic.

West Ham have been conceding more goals in recent games and David Moyes will have a tough decision on his hands as whether to stick with the Issa Diop and Craig Dawson partnership so throw Ogbby straight back into the mix at the heart of the Hammers defence.

Let’s hope so. He’s a giant. Dawson and Oggy are are best central defenders in my opinion, with real experience and awareness.
