Hammer to return from knock for City

Hammer Ryan Fredericks was a late omission from West Ham’s match day squad at Sunday lunchtime .

The defender suffered a late knock and was withdrawn from the squad by David Moyes to be replaced by David Martin to join Darren Randolph on the bench.

The 28-year-old defender has been in recent good form so it is a disappointing setback.

The defender was at the London Stadium yesterday to watch his team mates beat Spurs 2-1 and he told a number people it was only a small problem and he fully expected to be able to train this week and be match fit for potential selection for the Manchester City game.

Fredericks joined from Fulham on a free transfer in 2018 and has since madeĀ  58 appearances scoring 5 goals.

He has made 10 Premier League appearances this season and two FA cup appearances.

He came on a 89th minute substitute against Sheffield United last week scoring West Ham’s third goal.
