Hammer to be shipped out as second signing is finalised

Tomas Soucek should join West Ham from Slavia Prague in the coming days which means that Carlos Sanchez will be surplus to requirements in David Moyes squad.

Agents have been told to urgently find a new club for the 33-year-old before Friday’s transfer deadline day in an attempt to get his huge wages off the club’s annual salary bill.

Sanchez was signed by Manuel Pellegrini and Mario Husillos in August 2018 on a two-year contract on wages reported to top £70,000 per week. West Ham are thought to have paid a small transfer fee of £2-£3 million. however, after agent’s fee and wages it adds up to around £9 million over the two year contract.

The 33-year-old Colombian – known as ‘The Rock’ – had appeared 88 times for his country having arrived from Fiorentina but has failed to make an impact at West Ham.

Sanchez has started just 13 times since joining making another 10 substitute appearances in the Premier League.

  1. £9m for one of the worst players to ever put the shirt on🙈

  2. Second signing? am i being dense? who was the first?

  3. CARLOS SANCHEZ WAS A COMPLETE WASTE OF MONEY HE HAS NEVER TRIED AND HAS JUST BEEN TRAINING AND PICKING UP WAGES ( nearly 2 years and a complete waste of money ) PATHETIC EXCUSE FOR A PROFFESIONAL PLAYER

  4. Who would seriously buy that clown ? Just release the guy & have done with it, as never saw the point of buying him in the first place. If Reid goes as well, the club have probably taken around 750k off the weekly wage bill since the summer, yet still complain that we have no money to invest in the team !

  5. Sanchez leaving would be the best thing for the club

  6. what a waist of money he was.

  7. great if he goes but there are many others stealing a living
what i cant understand is every club know when the transfer window is open so why do we always wait till the last few days after every other club has picked the best players
if every point in this league is so important and right now its obvious to west ham why not bd for players 3 weeks ago and maybe do better against everton leicester and wba
its so frustrating supporting this team

  8. Seriously, we are not going be able to give him away. He is certainly not going to go anywhere if it would mean he wouldn’t continue to receive his c.£70,000 per week wages. All we can do is remove him from the PL list to free up a space for another “non-homegrown” player

  9. I cannot believe the wages this clown is on. 70k a week! Seriously! Terrible bit of a business from Pelle and Husillos and for once this is where you want the board to have stepped in and said no. Would much rather have had a youngster as cover.

  10. BD17 …DARREN RANDOLPH ..THE FIRST..

  11. Now get Jarrod Bowen to replace Haller.

  12. It’s NOT like we didn’t know that he was rubbish and that his best days were behind him if Ever he was better.
He can’t be blamed for his lack of ability and to focus this clubs demise solely on him is Outrageous.
When I saw him play for Villa I thought he was rubbish then and that was in 2016…. LOL
He was brought to the club, by the same person who brought Roberto and a few other crocks. So focus anger and disillusionment at our irresponsible club owners and former manager, understanding Why were are where we are right now.

  13. Can’t wait to see Ben Johnson back in a West Ham shirt.

  14. Oxygen thief. Willing to put a tenner towards his bus ticket out of the East End. Crowd Source?

  15. He couldn’t get given away with a packet of Cornflakes after last weekend’s pathetic effort. Is he called ‘The Rock’ because he never moves? Also, that photo was obviously taken after he learnt he was going to be paid a fortune for doing SFA. Actually, I’m pretty sure I’ve seen photos of Wilshere and Ajeti in the same pose … alarm bells if any new signings follow suit!
