Hammer wants to stay in Europe but not with us

|

Hammer Fabian Balbuena will remain in Europe but will not renew a contract with West Ham according to his agent.

“We are talking with several teams but nothing in particular, there are several options for Fabian (Balbuena). For now, he will not continue at West Ham, but he will continue in Europe,”  his agent Renato Bittar, said during an interview with Versus Radio.

The 29-year-old Paraguayan defender joined from the Hammers Brazilian club Corinthians for £3.6m in 2018 under Manuel Pellegrini but is now said to want out at the end of his West Ham contract at the end of June this year.

David Moyes may have Balbeuna’s replacement already lined up in the form of Frederick Alves. The £1.2m Danish international joined the Hammers in January for £1.2m but is he said to be already impressing the manager who has included him on the senior bench three times in recent games.

A report recently suggested he could be ready for his senior breakthrough next season but could have a few minutes on the pitch this season to make his Premier League debut.

Players only love you when they’re playing. At 29 Fabian probably wants to be playing every game he can. Very good player who has done well for us and could even get better if allowed the opportunity. If we want him to stay – let him know. If he has to leave GaryD and Graham Watts have already nailed it.

Nice guy, done a decent job for us at a difficult time so I wish him well!

  • GaryD says:

This is unfortunate as Balbuena showed his true quality this year. Should he leave, can only wish him the very best.
