Hammer Zouma gets the full time gig

|

Hammers boss David Moyes has confirmed Kurt Zouma will remain as West Ham skipper into the forseeable future.

Moyes has been right behind the former Chelsea defender and backed him stood through the dreadful saga of him mistreating his cat in footage that went viral.

Zouma was seen  kicking the Bengal cat across his kitchen before throwing a pair of shoes at it and slapping its head.

Moyes was appalled at the time describing the incident as diabolical but kept the player in the Hammers squad.

And the player has been turning in superb performances as a result which has now seen him – not perhaps unexpectedly – receive the captain’s armband following Declan Rice’s departure with Moyes  now revealing  he will keep it for the season and into the forseeable future.

Some will disagree with the decision but it certainly shows that the manager and player aren’t unhappy to court controversy.
