Hammers aim to snap up new boys FAST

|

David Sullivan and David Moyes will be moving fast tomorrow in a bid to see that three new players are involved in the Hammers team at Bournemouth.

From all accounts Harry Maguire is set to become a West Ham central defender, Edson Alvarez is expected to be confirmed as another tomorrow and James Ward-Prowse is now all set to join with a medical likely for Thursday.

The news that Lucas Paqueta is likely to be on his way to Manchester City is a major downside but the club has really pulled its finger out over the last 24 hours after the slowest of starts to the summer transfer window.

Aaron Cresswell presents another problem having become upset over a move to Wolves which didn’t happen and has been training alone whilst we understand that Flynn Downes could be on his way to Southampton on loan as part of the Ward-Prowse deal

But if everything works out as the club hopes this could be the team for the match on the south coast: Fabianski; Coufal, Maguire, Zouma, Emerson; Alvaraz, Ward-Prowse, Soucek, Bowen; Antonio, Ings

Straight away there’s a potential issue – Maguire in for Aguerd? Our quickest CB dropped for a slow ponderous plodder. Alvarez yes I can see that, W-P yes but surely not with Soucek? Is Moyes going for a back eight?

I dont agree Paqueta will necessarily leave, the club need to talk to him and show him how important he is to the club right now and that we mean business now. Moyes has got his players so it’s now time for the new DOF. They also need to up his salary and and give him a promise that if he still wants to go next season we will let it happen. He trained yesterday, I expect him to play. Secondly whatever team you pick you include Aguerd he a class defender. Thirdly we need to stop picking Soucek he is the problem why we cannot move the ball through the lines. Why would we be signing midfielders abd jeep soucekb8n the team !!! So my team is Fab, Coufal, Maguire, Zouma, Aguerd, Enerson, Alvarez, WP, Paqueta, Bowen, Fornals, Antonio.

We don’t always see eye to eye Johnham, but when you are right you are right 😉

I would personally prefer Cornet instead of Fornals – and keep Fornals to come in when Cornet have run the defence ragged – or potentially coming in central midfield if needed

Youth? Dynamism? We don’t need any of that. West Ham are obviously trying to become the first walking football team to grace the Premiership.

No chance Antonio and Ings both start. That defence without Aguerd is too slow and what about Cornet or Benrhama? If Paqueta is still here, he plays.
