West Ham are ready to hijack a Valencia bid for Maxi Gomez which is being dubbed a “done deal” across Europe and Britain.
Valencia believe they are now very close to clinching a deal with an offer of £15 million plus two players and with Celta Vito signing Gabriel Fernandez it’s thought Gomez will move on to last season’s fourth placed La Liga Champions League qualifiers.
Various sources in Spain are tonight reporting Vito will do a deal at around £16 million plus their former striker Santi Mina and another player on loan.
And there is no doubt that Gomez is keen to remain in Spain which may be the issue that settles the deal in Valencia’s favour.
However, ClaretandHugh has learned over the last few minutes that the Hammers are ready to make eleventh hour moves for the 22 year old Gomez.
Armed with £22 million from a soon to be completed deal with Shanghai for Arnautovic they believe the agents they have on the case can swing the deal in their favour.
They will be able to outbid Valencia on personal terms and are looking to bet the deal over the line following the dramatic developments involving the Austrian striker.

Problem is, Valencia will hijack our deal for Gomez. Then their problem will be that we’ll hijack their deal for Gomez.
I’m confident he’ll sign because he’s ‘keen’ on a move to West Ham and living in Spain.

Hopefully the deal for the snake will be confirmed and we can sign Rondon, Gomez and Delph, seriously hope the Delph rumour is true, he is a player with a great attitude, brilliant cdm who can also play left back so may solve two problems.
I like Delph but I worry about his injuries tho I do think we need LB cover & really wish we’d gone for James Justin £8m a lot for new Championship player but great inverted LB & RB quick plays off ground defensive well rounded & mid cover. He would walk right into our LB spot.
For mid I do still worry I don’t trust Sanchez & Wilshere not defensive & fitness issues w both.
We are linked w so many Chilean players & MP even talked about bringing them & Leverkusen bloke turning him down who is 31-32. Linked w Medel again who I like & is actually suited better for us for CB cover then Maripan who I think u agreed we is to slow & to much wanted. But for Chile Medel is better CB def quicker & better passer. Maripan isn’t a passer is big strong can dribble.

But that’s Erick Pulgar & now bc good performances in Copa Roma & other Serie A clubs are keen. At 25 he is tall but mobile DM/CM for Bologna scored 6 goals 2 assists is all action mid. Would add more defensive cover blocks tackles but great passer gets play fwd, set pieces, dead ball goals, is physical suited to PL. And he only has a €10m buyout. Now the will probably lose him either way but Bologna want Obaing who they value at €10m his old Sampdoria manager is there now. Straight swaps are unusual but even if we gave Obiang who wants move & €2-5m we would be coming out w a £25m player who would suit PL & want to work under MP. So that deal makes sense to me. Pulgar be perfect partner for Rice & w Fornals mid 25 & under of great players w Lanzini Snodgrass & Wilshere as cover.
He will score loads of goals even if it’s only one season and we sell him on his price will rocket so if his unhappy in UK can return to Spain and play there win win really so get him in after arnie departs at last thanks to greed again

You can bid as much as you want but if the player wants to stay in Spain then Valencia it is. He’s either up for the challenge in the premiership or playing safe in Spain. Why the 12th hour bid, surely our earlier bids was higher than Valencia’s anyway. This saga has gone on far too long. Move on!
All sounds chicken and egg to my with this series of intermingled events and I am not sure which has conspired to inspire the others and doubt we ever will.
