Hammers answer every question with fine win

Pedro scored his first ever Hammers game

Pedro scored his first ever Hammers game

The Irons came from behind to answer all the questions left behind from the Manchester City debarcle to crush Southampton.

It was their first win at St Mary in seven attempts, with Andy Carroll scoring his sixth of the season and Pedro Obian grabbing his first  for the Hammers and Mark Noble’s deflected free-kick clinched the points.

It saw Slaven’s side get back to winning ways in style and meant the Irons had managed three away top-flight wins in a row.

Southampton  took an early lead through debutant Manolo Gabbiadini who fired high beyond Randolph but within two minutes  Obiang played a perfectly-weighted through ball for Carroll, who fired home confidently.

Aaron Cresswell tested the Saints keeper with a low shot and that was the end of the chances until the left back forced a corner which was headed only as far as the advancing Obiang rifled him for his first goal in 55 outings. left-hand corner.

Robert Snodgrass was brought down on the edge of the penalty area after the break and Noble’s shot was defelcted via his opposite number Davis.

  1. So we are shyte & unfit but have taken 18 pts from the last 9 matches. There must be another 11 teams & managers below us who are total dogs b******* then lol 😂
Top result for Slav & the boys.Even Kev will not be looking over his shoulder at the relegation places soon 😁

  2. Spot on , Radai Lama ccccccccc .
I loved that result today . If we can carry on playing like that then we should all be very happy .
It does eliviate some concerns , undoubtedly , and give us a bit of faith in the team and Manager .
There were , however , some worrying moments but , we came through . Today was a very important three points and keeps our shoulder a bit further away . Maybe now the specter of relegation can be put aside .
The Premiership is a minefield and today we crossed it without losing a point . Well done to all , especially those traveling fans . ( I was , unfortunately working away from home , too far away actually ) .
We have some massive games coming up and , when you see Liverpool lose at home to Hull it must surely give the team some inpetus to be amongst the winners .
I don’t know if Slaven is the right man to take us forward but , after today’s performance it’s hard to complain . Even if I wanted to or felt like doing .
Hopefully the Club , Manager , Team & Fans can get through the massive upheaval of moving from The Boleyn to the Os ( LS ) with dignity .
But , I still maintain if it needs a change at the the Top to be a bigger club !!???!!
Time will tell , as always .
    Come on you Hammers .

  3. Great result it seems they must have woken up to the fact you have to exert yourselves to get a result, however it seems Slav has not learnt his lesson & again fielded a player out of position Kouyate at right back ? If he felt he needed Him in the team then drop a midfield player ( any guess’s ) & play a proper right back ( Byram ), he was not even on the bench,so unless he was injured Slav has left himself open to criticism ( yet again ). It was Kouyate who gave them the opening for their goal then again in the second half, heading the ball to their goal scorer, luckily he missed. But we. Cannot go on with these stupid experiments.

  4. Claret, I think that you will find that Byram was injured hence the Kouyate decision.

  5. Byram had a slight hammy problem so wasnt risked correct.
Kev im pleased you are happy mate.Forget about relegation. No chance of it happening 🙌😀
