Hammers attempt to hijack Jarrod Bowen deal

Crystal Palace are reported to have agreed a £16 million fee with Hull City for in-demand attacker Jarrod Bowen

Bowen has been coveted by a host of clubs over the past 12 months with Aston Villa, Newcastle United , Leeds United, West Brom and West Ham all monitoring his situation closely.

Bowen has scored 16 goals in 29 Championship games for Hull City this season.

Claret and Hugh understand that the Hammers have been a very late bid to hijack the Palace deal with an insider giving the offer a 20% chance of succeeding.

  1. That’s hijacking Bowen and the Bristol city kid to Burnley, why not identify our own targets early enough, how embarrassing, it’s like chasing someone else’s girlfriend, total lack of class (and planning)

  2. Imagine if we made this offer BEFORE a club had agreed a deal to sign him! Seriously, our board deserve all of the hate they get

  3. This the the second player in the news today the Hammers are trying to hijack!! The other being the Bristol lad ? It ain’t gonna happen folks. Then when the window shuts GSB will say ” we did try for this for this or that player but lost out” in a bid to appease fans? but some how we are all getting wiser on what they are all about and its about keeping their money in the bank????

  4. i doubt there are any supporters left who would back us to win a bidding war for a player with CP, Everton or Villa – & certainly not with Wolves or Leicester. 50% chance of success?-you’re having a laugh.

  5. Again…. too little too late and can’t help thinking this is a “we tried” offer

  6. Get the deal done NOW!

  7. As usual with our owners, always reactive rather than being proactive. Have had all month to buy Bowen but wait until another club is interested before doing anything. Absolutely useless

  8. How many more deals with other clubs are we going to try way too late to hijack…It seems our owners don’t invest in a scouting system because they feel they can piggy back on other clubs………what a joke we have become

  9. Sounds like Hugill mark 2. Giroud and a midfielder is what we need

    • Hugill mark 2, except for the fact that Hugil was crap in the Championship and Bowen’s the best player in the Championship – don’t talk about something you know nothing about ffs

  10. Why? This is nonsense. If we really had been interested in Bowen we would have dealt with it when selling Martin Samuelson to Hull City earlier in the January transfer window.

  11. If this story is true then it highlights just how much of a joke club we have become.
Did the transfer window not open back on the 1st of January ? Yep it did,so in all the time leading up to now we’ve just decided to try to make a late bid for him, jesus this deal and any other that we might have, though I highly doubt theres gonna be any activity at all, should’ve been sorted a long time ago but because we are getting desperate let’s just say were trying to sign this player and that player to try to keep the fans onside.
This board are a joke,a bunch of charlatans who do the same every time its season ticket renewal time we get linked with every top player going, they say look were gonna sign Lionel Messi but end up with Lionel Blair every time, its getting boring now, if you have any bit of feeling to West Ham please sell up to someone who genuinely loves West Ham that can take us forward and not use us as there own personal cash cow.
    GSB out……

  12. Too little too late as usual

  13. Now THIS is a good move!
I really hope we land him as he is exactly what we need!

  14. Pathetic way of doing business – their huge mistakes with the legacy of this football club are coming in like a tsunami now. There are no words to describe the damage they’ve done. We could be seeing the actual end of West Ham United Football Club right before our very eyes due to their inept stewardship and lies to the fan-base.

  15. Watching maxi Gomez put two past Barcelona, and wondering what might have been.
