West Ham await the outcome of a European decider between NK Domzale v Shakhtyor Soligorsk tonight with a kick off of 7.30pm which decides their Europa League opposition.
The teams are level on 1-1 after the first leg of the second qualifying round of the Europa League.
Domazale’s Sports park holds just 2,813 supporters meaning. Europa rules mean that Domazale could sell as few as 140 away tickets as the minimum requirement is only 5 per cent of the ground capacity. However with an average home league attendance of just 1,003, more tickets could be made available to West Ham.
Shakhtyor’s Stroitel Stadium is slightly better with a capacity of 4,200 meaning their minimum away allocation can be as low 210 tickets for the Hammers. The stadium was half full with 2,100 fans when Shakhtyor played Domzale last Thursday.
Both sides have agreed to a fixture reversal meaning we will we either travel 2,000 mile round trip to Slovenia to take on Domazale or 2,730 mile round trip to Belarus to face Shakhtyor Soligorsk.
Our ticket office source told ClaretandHugh this afternoon: “Europa away allocation will be dependent on the opposition, we have sent someone to tonight’s game and ideally we may even bring the tickets home tomorrow. As seen last year the quick turnaround prevented many people from going to these games which is why each game reached general sale. Details will follow tomorrow”
Last year West Ham sold out our 450 away ticket allocation for FC Lusitans away in the Europa League, However Birkirkara FC sold just 376 away tickets from an allocation of 3,000 and just 345 supporters made the trip for Astra Giurgiu from an allocation of 500.
Well. As a hammer from Belarus I can tell you that in case Shakhtyor will qualify we will play em at BATE stadium in Borisov (15 000 capacity). I HOPE that will be the case and if somebody will need any assistance I’m here to help! Please, Shakhtyor do me a favour!!!
If that happens they better hope there is local demand for tickets as it unlikely to have more 500 Hammers make the trip from the UK. Shakhtyor’s average attendance is small so it could end up looking very empty in a large stadium
Lots of people will show up to watch EPL side. But at the moment it looks like you’re going to Slovenia ((( beautiful country btw!
I not sure how much demand there will be from West ham fans, we won’t know until tomorrow. Fans they have six days to book flights, hotels and get time off work just as the school summer holidays start when flights are the most expensive.
Last we sold 450 for FC Lusitans away, Birkirkara FC just 376 from an allocation of 3,000! and 345 for Astra Giurgiu from an allocation of 500
The Stozice Stadium in Ljubljana holds 16,000 while the Borisov Arena holds 13,126. I think moving the games would be complete overkill unless there is domestic demand
I thought that both clubs had agreed to move their home tie to larger grounds – Domzale to Ljubljana and Soligorsk to Borisov
Not heard that, where did you read that?
Here we go , let’s hope for a good one . If West Ham truly want to demonstrate Thier ambition then the Europa League is the way to do it . We may yet see a marquee signing despite our doubts , fingers crossed .
Come on you Hammers .
