Two Hammers back training on the grass

Andriy Yarmolenko and Angelo Ogbonna were both back training on the grass on Wednesday.

The pair were pictured running on the field in an open virtual training session ahead of this weekend’s clash with Leicester City.

There is no suggestion that Ogbonna will be playing this weekend, as he has been out since the FA Cup tie with Manchester United back in February.

He was in a protective boot after the game and has been targeting a return in mid-April, which remains the plan, and could see him back in the team against Newcastle. He trained in a yellow vest with Kevin Nolan and others today.

Yarmolenko, meanwhile, did play for the U23s just a fortnight ago but he has also consulted a specialist over his knee ligament issue.

Still, with the Hammers sweating over the fitness of Mikey Antonio, the possibility of the Ukraine international being back in the team before the end of the season can only be seen as a potential boost.
