The Hammers were involved in a chase for Arsenal midfielder Mohamed Elneny over the summer ahead of finally signing Pablo Fornals.

According to the player’s agent the Hammers were involved in a race for the player’s signature before he finally joined Besiktas on loan.

High flying Leicester City and Valencia are also claimed to have made offers for the 27 year old with his agent Alaa Nazmy reportedly told Egyptian media outlet Time Sport: “Milan and Roma tried to sign the player during the last winter transfer window.

“But the negotiations didn’t work then, and he received more than one offer as well.
