West Ham will take their time on deciding whether to offer David Moyes a new contract despite teamTALK’S Simon Jordan offering the board advice on how they should behave on the topic.
The Hammers are likely to stick to their usual procedure of waiting and seeing in their manager’s final year before coming to a decision.
The man who led Palace into liquidation reckons the Hammers have no reason not to and seem unable to make up their minds on whether to offer him a deal now.
The real issue is that Jordan is perplexed and really doesn’t understand the facts or search his memory for reasons why.
Remember, Slaven Bilic got us sixth in the table in his first season so we’ve done it before being unable to follow up.
David Moyes has has done many good things and David Sullivan stuck with him last season despite some tough times and in pre season when people were panicking.
However, the club always waits in the last year of a deal until Christmas the earliest or pre-end of season so they will undoubtedly do the same and see how we are doing or have done.
If David Sullivan is still the big cheese at West Ham at the end of the season, and David Moyes leads West Ham on one or two decent cup runs and another top seven finish (or thereabouts) ….I expect him to be offered and extension to his current deal. I can’t see any reason why Moyes would not want to continue developing West Ham’s squad as he’s done for almost four years already. His tactics may not be everyone’s cuppa, but they’re more effective than any West Ham boss in a very long time.
When people were panicking, or when person was panicking? 🤣
