Hammers book FA Cup fourth round spot

West Ham beat Brentford 1-0 on Saturday to finally get back to winning ways, and progress to the fourth round of the FA Cup.

The Hammers have been in dire form in the Premier League but finally got a notch in the win column with a narrow victory over their London rivals.

Said Benrahma scored the only goal of the game, on his return to his old club.

The Irons, of course, bought Benrahma from the Bees back in 2021, having initially taken the Algeria international on loan, and he scored a genuinely superb goal to give David Moyes’ side the victory.

Taking the ball 30 yards from goal after Declan Rice won possession in midfield, Benrahma strode forward and smashed an effort into the top corner.

The first half was largely devoid of incident, with both sides looking to establish a foothold, but the one moment of quality came from the Hammers.

They will subsequently be in the hat for the fourth round as the Irons look to finally end their painful trophy drought.

  1. So this is a good result against a Brentford team that made 7 changes against virtually a full strength West Ham side………I beg to differ……..
    Johnson – Awful
    Soucek – Awful
    Antonio – Awful
    Emerson – Awful
We will get battered against Wolves & get nothing from the Everton game………….why are the board waiting……..get rid of the poison that is running through our club now ( Moyes )
Get rid of Moyes & you will see just what a game changer Benrahma can be because Moye’s has destroyed him over the past 18 months
