Hammers braced for summer inquiries

|

With success comes envy and West Ham must brace themselves for a flurry of inquires this summer as other rival clubs will try to cash in on some of our success this season. We should expect unwelcomed interest for many of our players expecting Czech mates Tomas Soucek and Vladimir Coufal to be top targets for other clubs.

Declan Rice, Michail Antonio, Craig Dawson, Issa Diop, Said Benrahma, Jarrod Bowen and Pablo Fornals could also be on rival transfer target lists.

This summer is when the club must prove they are no longer a selling club and reject any and all approaches for this season’s West Ham stars.

The traditional top six Premier League clubs and Europe’s elite clubs have had it their own way for a long time but if we are ever to built David Moyes long term dream at Weest Ham we must rebuff any big-money offers for our best players and continue to build.

That will not come easy with the lure of Championship League football and money they could earn for a top side but we must try!

It comes down to the GSB and whether they back Moyes in the summer transfer window.
We have to show ambition and intent. We have to show the players that we want to build on this season and push on to consistently challenge at the top.
Moyes has shown that he can be trusted in the transfer market, so it’s up to GSB to back him and show the same ambition.

I already think Moyes is the best manager we’ve had since John Lyall. He’s brought stability to a Club that’s lurched from one disaster to the next since maybe as far back as 2000, and the sale of Rio Ferdinand. Let’s see if Moyes can do something that Lyall couldn’t always do: convince our best players to stay at the Club.

I’m less concerned about where we finish in the league this season than I am about hanging on to Cougal, Soucek and Rice in particular in the summer. If we can do that, and add to what’s already a good, but thin, squad, we could have a real go on a number of fronts next season.

Come on Moyesey, impress me all over again!

      My feelings entirely…
What luck we have to have let Moyes go, only to unbelievably capture him again… This feels like the New West Ham way and the building of a future legacy for this club… Without a doubt the best manager since Lyall and given the support, he may even surpass the Late Great John Lyall… COYI

Massively in our favour is the positive unity of the players. The C&H blogs are full of the players supporting and praising each other, and Jesse has absolutely loved joining our mob. Hopefully we will add him and other quality players, rather than sell anyone. We have a super team without a disruptive big shot looking for a quick quid!

If we dont keep our best players little point in it all. Having said that I think we will. There is no longer my opinion a media hyped top six. Theres a top one – think we know who that is. Mind you the money they have spent just pick a club to do the same – think they might be te top one. Hardly rocket science. Mind you good to see certain clubs who thought they were the big boys not really so now.
