Hammers call in the cleaners

West Ham have called in the cleaners as they bid to ensure there are no COVID-19 outbreaks at the London Stadium!

Stadia Magazine reports that the Irons have enlisted ICE cleaning to help clean the stadium and the training facilities in order to ensure no players catch anything while training or playing for the club.

ICE’s remit will be to keep all the facilities as clean as possible for the players, the fans, and the staff of the club, and suggests the Irons have one eye on supporters returning to the London Stadium!

Of course, the Irons were hit with a COVID outbreak earlier in the season, as boss David Moyes, defender Issa Diop, and the midfielder Josh Cullen all tested positive for the virus.

The signing of ICE will help to ensure the risk of a second outbreak is kept to a minimum.

They will “comprehensively decontaminate” the club’s facilities every 14 days, using a solution that will allow the players to train, or play, just 15 minutes after the clean.

A shrewd signing, if you ask us.

  1. Surely they have been doing this for at least a year?
