Hammers Cash bid looks unlikely

New speculation has arisen this morning that the Hammers remain interested in Nottingham Forest right sided midfielder/right back Matty Cash.

The Irons were strongly linked with the 22 year old in last winter’s window but reportedly saw an £18 million bid turned down by the Championship club.

Now The Sun is claiming – and reported also by NottinghamshireLive – that the Irons could be back for the impressive defender in the next window.

It doesn’t make as much sense as it once did before the signing of Jarrod Bowen and the emergence of Jeremy Ngakia and with Ben Johnson returning from injury with the under 23s and tipped for the first team squad .

Ryan Fredericks is also still on the squad and at this stage and as Claret and Hugh understand things from our own insiders the boss is looking more in terms of a striker and left back once the summer window gets underway.

  1. We do not need to spend big money on a right back. We have Ngakia, Fredericks and Ben Johnson. I would rather we sold Masuaku and spent some decent money on a left back
