West Ham are still in the market for attackers, and are pursuing a remarkable double transfer deal. Following the weekend’s Premier League victory against Chelsea, David Moyes hinted that he expected two more signings immanently.
With the Hammers concluding the transfer of Konstantinos Mavropanos, it had been assumed there would only be one more incoming player. However, it has been revealed this afternoon, that we are still chasing two players.
Youssef En-Nesyri remains a serious transfer target for West Ham despite reports to the contrary. David Moyes has coveted the player for three years, and is confident of landing his man. En-Nesyri’s club Sevilla are looking to generate transfer funds, and hold an interest in Pablo Fornals.
The Hammers are still robustly pursuing the Ajax attacker Mohammed Kudus. The Dutch club have rejected West Ham’s second offer, however the player is pushing for the move.
Were West Ham able to conclude both pieces of business, the squad would look formidable. Lucas Paqueta appears to be remaining in East London for the foreseeable future, Added to the surprise signing of Jesse Lingard, Moyes would have an embarrassment of riches at his disposal.
As ever watch this space. But if West Ham really are looking to bring in two more players . . . things could get very exciting indeed.
Am I the only one who is really worried about the left back position? We look so vulnerable down that side. Emerson is not a good enough defender, Aguerd is a bit of roll of the dice, and Benrahma isn’t likely to be tracking back very often or very effectively. Even if Cresswell sticks around, he’s just not got the pace for the PL anymore. I get that Alvarez will likely spend a lot of time covering that area (as Rice did), but it looks a real weakness in our side to me. Bournmouth and Chelsea both had a lot of good chances down that wing. I’d like to see the club sign a quality left back more than I’d like to see us sign another striker.
