Hammers chase left back Archie Brown
According to a recent report by The Guardian, West Ham United are eyeing a summer move for Gent’s left-back Archie Brown. The Hammers are reportedly keen on securing the services of the English defender, although they face stiff competition from AC Milan, Juventus, Lyon, and Nice.
Brown, 21, has impressed during his stint in Belgium, putting in solid performances on the left side of Gent’s defence. He has featured in 31 matches this season, contributing two assists across various competitions.
Primarily a left-back, Brown is versatile and can also operate as a left-sided winger or even as a centre-back if needed. Born in Birmingham, his potential addition to the West Ham squad would bolster their ranks, particularly given the potential departures of UK developed players like Aaron Cresswell, Ben Johnson, Divin Mubama, Kalvin Phillips, and possibly Michail Antonio at the end of the current campaign.
West Ham’s interest in Brown signals their intent to reinforce their squad ahead of the next season, while also addressing any potential gaps in their homegrown player quotas.
