Hammers clear on Bilic future

Sky Sports News HQ are reporting this afternoon that West Ham United would be interested in Fulham boss Slavisa Jokanovic (above) if they decided to relieve Slaven Bilic of his job this summer.

The Serbian who led Watford to promotion in 2014-15 has the Cottagers  within two points of the Championship ply off places and was freely mentioned as a possible for the Hammers job before Slav took over.

The Irons in fact didn’t invite him for an interview and our information following this story is that should Slav lead the club to safety this season there is next to no chance of him being replaced by anyone anyway.

The Hammers aren’t looking at any possible replacements seriously as they are determined to allow the boss to lead the club in the third year of his contract assuming they get the sort of finish which now looks possible.

We were told: “Jokanovic is just another name people choose to throw around but the likely scenario is that Slaven will be in charge next season and although a new deal won’t be offered immediately he will be given the time to earn one.”

  1. That’s another Fake News story quashed. Will it stop the haters giving the story wings just to undermine the club they claim to love. Nope.

  2. And the story here is?
Who is briefing sky news and why or do they just make stuff up?

  3. Slavisa Jokanovic – easy for you to say!

There’s no smoke without fire – it wouldn’t surprise me one little bit, after all Slaven hasn’t done much of a job this Season has he?

  4. Incredible! If we ever have to replace Slav, let’s hope it’s not with another wannabe, or other dubious European manager; only a coach with a track-record will do, otherwise it’ll more of the same pain.

  5. The Swansea win could very well have saved our’s and Slaven’s bacon . That , of course , doesn’t mean that Slaven is the right person to take us forward . But , if he’s not the right man it seems ludicrous to replace him with another manager who has less credentials . We would need a Manager that carries a big and impressive CV . Should we let Bilic have another stab at it and add to his CV ? , I have my doubts . But if West Ham decide to hold on to him then they must back him up with some serious signings and show some ambition . We have had far too many crunch games over the years , all of which have been make or break . We are only just slightly better than the three bottom clubs and something needs sorting during the summer .
Next up ; Sunderland , which in my opinion is a bigger game than the previous one . Three points ( or maybe just the one ) from that game away from home would consolidate our Premiership status .
Lose , and the Slaven Bilic issues will reignite and make us twitchy again regarding relegation . On the point of signings I would like to add , it would be nice if West Ham kept themselves to themselves and stop letting every tom dick & Harry know our targets .
