Hammers close in on midfield ‘target’

|

McGinnDavid Moyes appears to be closing in on Scotland international John McGinn.

The player has been on his radar for several weeks and the 23-year-old is now entering the final 18 months of his contract.

The Scotttish Daily Mail says Hibs chief executive Leeann Dempster has admitted the club will consider bids for the midfielder.

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers is also a big admirer but Moyes has had the player scouted regularly over recent weeks and could move quickly.

Dempster is reported as saying:  ‘There was an offer in the August transfer window and John has gone from strength to strength in the subsequent period.

‘It’s inevitable that when you have good people either working for you, or playing at a club, that there is going to be interest.

‘It is always about weighing up our league position and what is best for us in the short and medium-term. We don’t know what the next month will bring, we don’ t have a crystal ball we might get tested. If we are tested then we will carefully consider it.’

They should have started investing as soon as we quit the old girl 64 ? They had no intentions of doing that and they never will because they can’t ! It was all bull💩 from the off
And now the truth and deception they showed is bearing fruit ! Can’t and I hope they don’t stay much longer ! They will never buy a player for 40 mill because no one will come here who is worth that ! Only serious money to spend will attract top players here and until that happens we will be as we are now ! Liverpool saw it coming as a example and have spent in the last two seasons and just spent 75 mill on van winkle ! We are being left behind !! These people will not take us forward and that’s what I sincerely believe ! I don’t give a shyte if I’m wrong and welcome it ! But I cannot see it ! We have missed the bus and the night service lol😈

Still fumbling around in the bargain bins i see. Will they ever learn?.As said by Laz they do not seem to understand player investment. If they had bought Carvalho instead of arguing with Sporting they would have had a world class midfield enforcer who they could sell at any time if needed and return a tidy profit.£5 mill here £5mill there a few loans add it all up over a season and you could have somebody of real quality instead of buying a truck load of players like they did the other Summer and incidentally when all these problems began. If they had invested with quality after that first season under Bilic instead of penny pinching who knows.

If true jimbo it gives a insight to where the window is going lol! 40 mill for Mawson when we could have had carvhalo for 30-35 mill ? Anyway you want to look at it the portugueser was a investment in the long or short term but the big self apraising Brady and sugo couldn’t see it ,
What business brains they have ! I’m in awe at their ability’s ! Even a 3 card trick merchant down oxford st could see that lol but our baroness waynetta slob couldn’t see it 😂😂
Quality players today and future will all be in the 50-60-70-80 + bracket ! These clowns are not going to survive unless they dig deep ? Or get lucky ? 😈

  • jimbo says:

Bang on Laz. Considering him because he will cost under £5m. No other rationale I can see. Bet the other clubs around us are shyting themselves at the thought of McGinn running at them – Not!

What we need at the moment is a team of ninja,s, we could send them out the night before the game with a cotton reel and some exlax compound and do a comeacarzi raid 😂
This bloke should be in Sully’s expense range ! Bringing all that Scotts experience into the prem ? Another quality player to take us to the next level 😎 maybe sugo can re mortgage their out house to get him in 😂,

  • jimbo says:

What happened to only considering players with PL experience? Either Moyes was talking shyte or this story is?
McGinn is playing at a level on a par with League One currently, so let’s not talk about class just yet. My home town club (were in league one at the time) sold their right back to Hibs and he became their captain and lifted the Scottish cup a couple of years ago. So that’s the level of pool we are fishing in currently. Shocking. Since McAvennie, who has transitioned successfully from A Scottish club to us? Or any other for that matter? Robertson at Liverpool is the only one who comes close and he had to go down with Hull first. And don’t quote Snodgrass! Griffiths at Celtic is probably the best up there and he was a League One player with Wolves down South. Dembele was at Fulham and he looked shyte in the old firm game. So how can we possibly get excited at this proposed deal?

He plays further foward, but we still need a midfield destroyer.

  • Dunlopilo says:

What about ninja Nainggolan ? Too expensive I suppose ? But that guy has that bite we need…

  • Max Willow says:

This guy seems to have a lot of all-round attributes, and at 23, I’d expect him to get better in the next couple of years.
Probably worth the investment, since he can virtually play anywhere (GK excepted).
Would add some pace and class to the midfield.
