West Ham insiders are confident the game against Everton at Goodison Park will go ahead next weekend with the Premier League expected to make a decision later this week.

The late Queen Eliabeth 11’s funeral will be held on the Monday of the following week which looks set to allow games to be played over Saturday and Sunday.

The government have made it clear in the meantime that the decision will be made by football’s authorities, and it seems unlikely the entire weekend programme particularly given the season is interrupted by the Qatar World Cup.

However, a Hammers insider told Claret and Hugh that matches in London may be at risk given the pressure on police facing a major job on the following Monday.

Wed were told: “Matches in the capital may have problems in London where police might lack manpower to police football on the weekend of the funeral.”
