Hammers confirm Director of Football title

West Ham have again made it clear that speculation surrounding the position of  Mario Husillos is 100 per cent wrong.

A story in The Sun claiming there has been a fall out with the board and that he will not now be taking up his position with the club is inaccurate.

And we have also been told that the 59 year old will carry the title Director of Football rather than Head of Recruitment as he and Manuel Pellegrini gear up to launch their summer transfer activity.

A source made it clear to ClaretandHugh: “He is the Director of Football on a top wage which is exactly what the manager wanted. He is the top man.”

The Sun had claimed that Husillo’s recent record in the transfer market had not been good and that the Hammers board had decided against employing him.

Not true!

  1. All very confusing. I read an article on here saying that we were never going to have a director of football and that was all a media invention.

But now we have a director of football instead of a head of recruitment and we’re told that all this disinformation was a media intervention

I feel sorry for you guys having to spin this. For your own credibility stop trying to blame the media all the time.
