West Ham has today officially confirmed that Tomas Soucek has extended his loan spell at London Stadium until the end of the 2019/20 season which is scheduled to complete on Sunday 26th July.
Premier League rules were recently amended to permit that, where all parties agree, a loan agreement expiring on or before 30 June 2020 could be extended to the end of Season 2019/20, paving the way for the central midfielder to remain in east London until at least the current Premier League campaign is completed.
West Ham has an obligation to buy Soucek should they remain in the Premier League next season.
The Slavia Prague chairman Jaroslav Tvrdik previously confirmed the finances of the transfer of Tomas Soucek to West Ham explaining on social media that there is a €4.5m (£3.75m) loan fee and an additional €16.2m (£13.5m) to make the deal permanent.
There has been no similar announcement for Carlos Sanchez and Pablo Zabaleta both of whose contracts also expire on 30th June.
Claret and Hugh understand Zabaleta could yet be offered a short contract extension for right-back cover after Jeremy Ngakia decision not to sign an extension.
Sanchez is not thought to be extending his contract beyond the end of the month.
