West Ham confirm the bad news

West Ham have this morning confirmed the bad news that Mohammed Kudus will be unavailable for the match against Brighton – a match where would surely have required our strongest possible team. We put the question directly to our main contact asking: “We are told Hughton is stopping Mo Kudus playing on Tuesday. Is that right?. How can an international manager stop a player playing for his club?

The answer came back’ “Yes and Yes” and therefore this is a game which will again test our squad to the limits and the hope is that they can come up to the job as they did against Arsenal. That was an extraordinary evening when the likes of Oggy played out of their skins and Mavropanos headed home a fine goal against his former club.

Having had breaks before that game and this versus Albion we will have our fingers crossed for a repeat against a team currently sitting in eighth in the league with a marginal two goal advantage over the Irons. They or course beat the other north London team in their last game and are unbeaten in their past six away league games against West Ham (W2 D4), since a 6-0 loss in the Championship in April 2012.

We will be seeking a double having beaten them on the south coast early in the seasonĀ  and will represent a real test as we bid to overcome the loss of Kudus and no doubt Aguerd.

Utter nonsense. Can anyone anywhere provide 1 instance of this ever happening? What international football law states this?
I’ve searched high and low but all I can find is evidence of clubs stopping players going on international duty.
