Hammers ‘conveyor belt of failures’

We all seem to have been here many times before- up ….down – getting as optimistic as we can before finding the words of the old song come back to haunt us as “fortune hides again!”

It doesn’t really make a lot of difference or help that other clubs such as Spurs and Wolves find themselves in the same place this season because it’s become the norm for West Ham.

And CandH follower Kevin reckons the club needs to do whatever it takes to stop what he describes as the conveyor belt of failure.

He writes: West Ham need to do whatever it takes to stop us being the biggest ping-pong ball in the League.

It’s crazy how form players come to West Ham & fail. It’s a continuous conveyor belt of failures . Pelligrini isn’t helping with his stubborn insistence on playing 3421 or something like that because it’s never really clear what he’s doing except that there is always only one up top.

Admittedly there are many teams across Europe that play that system. The difference is they have the right manager with the right squad.

If the board decide to stick with the Chilean then they must learn to accept the very real possibility of relegation and begin financial plans to survive it.

We all desperately hope it doesn’t come to that of course  but I can’t see next season being any different to this one if Pelligrini is still in the driving seat .

  1. Wolves in the same place as us? They are eighth (only two defeats) & sailing through in the Europa League. We must have close to the worst PL performance over the last 6/7 games. And that is before we start the tough games!

  2. Well written Hugh, you ticked all the boxes in the article of continued failure in all departments. It just hurts to see “average” teams out think and out play us on a regular basis. Letting Adrian go was a disaster as most goalkeepers have some sort of injury during a season and our 2 backups arent good enough. having said that the 10 in front are not helping the situation. Looking at recent games confirms your take on it all with Palace outsmarting us, Newcastle out scrapping us and we can forget the Everton and Oxford performances. I have a horrible feeling that we have a squad and management that will not be able to keep us up this year. We are lucky that many teams are poor in the league.I honestly do not believe that a returning Fabianski will be the Messiah, we need ball winners and goalscorers , all of which we fail to attract to the club. But in the big scheme of things , players and agents do not see West Ham United as a great attraction so the top quality players will never come here. And to rub salt into the wound Chelsea are doing a great job with their younger players, credit to Frank Lampard Jr. A defeat by Spurs will have a devastating effect on the run to January , we have an awful GD which is not helpful when you might have 3-4 teams on same points. I can only see the conveyor belt of failures continuing with panic buys in January
