Hammers could get Champions League by default

|

Any club who joins the European Super League will be banned from the Premier League, the FA Cup, Serie A, La Liga and UEFA competitions including the Champions League a strong joint statement has warned.

Players from that breakaway clubs are also at risk of being stopped from joining up with their national teams and, potentially, representing them at World Cups and European Championships, according to a joint statement.

A statement said: “UEFA, the English Football Association and the Premier League, the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) and LaLiga, and the Italian Football Federation (FIGC) and Lega Serie A have learned that a few English, Spanish and Italian clubs may be planning to announce their creation of a closed, so-called Super League. If this were to happen, we wish to reiterate that we – UEFA, the English FA, RFEF, FIGC, the Premier League, LaLiga, Lega Serie A, but also FIFA and all our member associations – will remain united in our efforts to stop this cynical project, a project that is founded on the self-interest of a few clubs at a time when society needs solidarity more than ever.

“We will consider all measures available to us, at all levels, both judicial and sporting in order to prevent this happening. Football is based on open competitions and sporting merit; it cannot be any other way.

“As previously announced by FIFA and the six Federations, the clubs concerned will be banned from playing in any other competition at domestic, European or world level, and their players could be denied the opportunity to represent their national teams.

“We thank those clubs in other countries, especially the French and German clubs, who have refused to sign up to this. We call on all lovers of football, supporters and politicians, to join us in fighting against such a project if it were to be announced. This persistent self-interest of a few has been going on for too long. Enough is enough.”

West Ham could go second in the Premier League one point behind Leciester City if the Premier League and UEFA followed through on their threat!

In extreme bizarre circumstances, the Hammers could be crowned Premier League champions if the top six clubs were thrown out.

The 12 clubs supporting the European Super League, as it stands, are: Manchester United, Liverpool, Manchester City, Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham, FC Barcelona, Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, Inter Milan, AC Milan and Juventus.

I really hope these clubs get their way and get chucked out all their respective competitions. It would be brilliant for football and hopefully make it a sport again rather than a business. Get rid of the greedy gits

It’s greed and an insult to the clubs trying break into Top 6 entitled closed shop. Leicester City managed that sensational season and they’re up there this season and good luck to The Foxes
I can see the Hammers being eased out of the lucrative position should we finished 4 or 3rd.
Money has been ruining football for many and this break away will not ruin integrity off the game.
This lot can clear off into their super league and the rest competitive league with the league winners and relegations. I hope then will be a few new names of the Premier League. To me this is going too far, and like me , many fans will turn against this Super League because the prices of tickets will cost more to pay the obscene £1m a game.
I will also the Hammers but this latest development/threat will all but my interest in the game. Oh well , after 50 years I can hang up my scarf.

No interest whatsoever in watching games between any of these Super Dooper clubs. Too many ‘Classicos’ as it is. Much rather watch teams who are trying to do their best within the rules given what they’ve got. Rugby have tried various forms of league and association formats. Big fanfares at the start. Very soon – the bottom clubs/regions are dropping out leaving just the ‘best’ teams to play each other in any number of meaningless competitions. Can see the attraction for Sepp Blatter and Michel Platini types. Make loads of money for themselves in the short term. Milk it for as long as they can. Then when it has all gone wrong – off into the distance with a knighthood for services to themselves.
Killing the game at grass roots already. We don’t need any more of this squeezing of the Golden Lemon.

I am so happy to hear this ! Fck the super league and all the Prima Dona wnkrs that want to destroy our amazing football league for the sake of even more money in their pockets. These players should be fined 50 million. It was the football league that developed them in the first place.I always say “ Don’t bite the hand that fed you .”

Bring on the European super league !!

Imagine the supposedly top teams in Europe playing against each other …. Real Madrid – Man City or Barcelona winning this league year in and year out and the likes of Arsenal, Manchester Utd, Chelsea and Spurs stagnating becoming the new Fulham’s, WBA or Sheffield Utds by propping up this elite table of Europe.
The super league fans could then watch the good old English game with West Ham, Leicester, Wolves, Leeds and Aston Villa competing for the premiership and FA cup without having to spend millions on over inflated foreign imports, also teams in other countries that have not sold out to this non merited joke of a league to form a new European football competition to enter.
Backing home grown talent could be the shot in the arm this country needs as it gives our kids a real chance to play for the club they support (unless your a supposedly top six fan).
So let erm go but within a couple of years when crying to come back – accept them with open arms and place them in the National league (Previously known as The Football Conference).

Time for premier league to have the guts to chuck them out. All owned by foreign carpet baggers any way so no loss to this country!

It’s greed , always money when people need compassion and sharing wealth evenly around the word . It’s just an opinion which others can make their own minds up on . Anyway COYI ⚒

  • Colubus says:

Really hope this makes the CL re-think their plans for co-efficient places. These clubs have shown they’ll just keep pushing for more whatever they’re given. Maybe players and their agents should be blacklisted for life so they never have a contract with an officially recognised team again. Also, can they take PGMOL with them?

  • Mojen says:

Good. Get rid of the money grabbers and NEVER let them back. TAXI !
