Hammers could go for Serie A ace in January

West Ham could make a move for Luca Pellegrini in January, according to a new report.

Calciomercato reports that the Hammers are interested in a swoop for the Serie A star, who is currently on the books at Juventus.

He has struggled for minutes in Turin, playing just 58 minutes of first-team football, even though he decided to stay at the club in the summer in order to fight for his place.

He has not even been included in the club’s Champions League squad and he can subsequently move on in January.

Pellegrini is now said to be open to the prospect of departing the Old Lady, as he looks for first-team football elsewhere.

Sampdoria are said to be eyeing up a swoop along with the Irons, who could see an opportunity to bolster the midfield in the winter transfer window.

Juve paid £18.9m to sign him so it remains to be seen how much they would demand for him at the turn of the year.
