Hammers could land £72m prize

West Ham could benefit to the tune of around £72 million should they to qualify for Europe this season.

On average English Champions League representatives received an average of £72m in 2019/20.

It’s far less lucrative in the Europa League, but English clubs still averaged £20m.

The top four teams in the Premier League qualify for the group stage proper of the UEFA Champions League.

Some predictions have made West Ham finish fourth with an easier run in than many around them but the finish will be tight and could come down to goal difference between fourth and sixth place final standings.

The fifth-placed team in the Premier League qualify for the group stage proper of the UEFA Europa League. The winners of the FA Cup qualify for the group stage proper of the Europa league.

The EFL Cup winners qualify for the playoff stages for the new UEFA Europa Conference League.

If the FA Cup winners finish in the top five of the Premier League, their UEL group stage place will go to the next-highest ranked team not qualified for UEFA competitions in the Premier League.

If the EFL Cup winners finish in the top five or six of the Premier League their UECL playoff place will go to the next-highest ranked team not qualified for UEFA competitions in the Premier League.
