Hammers could sign bargain striker

West Ham have been linked with a bargain swoop to sign striker Dion Drena Beljo.

The forward plays for NK Osijek in Croatia and Sport Witness reports have suggested that Irons scout Steve Potts has been to watch him.

Just 20, he has already been capped at U21 level by Croatia and has scored six goals in 14 league games already this season.

As a result, it appears there is fresh interest from Anderlecht in signing the forward.

The Irons appear to have kept up their interest and he would cost around €5m in either January or the summer.

That equates to £4.3m, a dirt cheap figure for a Premier League club, although it will be interesting to see if David Moyes believes further reinforcements are needed up front after signing Gianluca Scamacca in the summer.

The Croatian wonderkid is likely to keep scoring goals, though, so the Irons may simply be watching on from afar.
